Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Program Manager I of the Response Resources Unit, the Emergency Services Coordinator (ESC) completes technical, analytical, and research assignments relevant to the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of deploying mobile medical assets for disasters.

The California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) oversees emergency and disaster medical services in the state of California. EMSA functions as one of thirteen departments and five offices within California’s Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS). EMSA is charged with providing leadership in the innovation and  administration of the emergency medical services (EMS) system throughout the state, which includes setting standards for the training and scope of practice for various levels of EMS personnel. EMSA is also responsible for promoting disaster medical preparedness throughout the state, and when required, coordinating, and supporting the State of California’s medical response to major disasters.
