Overview

The Office of AIDS (OA) is a division within the California Department of Public Health, Center for Infectious Diseases. The HIV Care Branch, within OA has responsibility for programs related to the delivery of care, treatment, and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Programs are designed to provide an effective and comprehensive continuum of care to underserved individuals.

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by serving as the HIV Policy Specialist for the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program. The Health Program Specialist (HPS) I will support the HIV Care Branch in developing program policy letters and standards, creating monitoring tools and templates, researching newly enacted legislation, developing trainings, and working with stakeholders.

This position requires outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel, are required.
