Overview

The Community Health Nurse will be part of a dynamic team focused primarily on communicable disease surveillance and management, responsible for investigating 60+ reportable diseases in humans residing in Tompkins County (for example Hepatitis A, Measles, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis) and responding to an outbreak when it occurs. This position will include working at immunization clinics at the Health Department and in the community, as well as education related to the transmission, testing, treatment, and prevention of communicable disease to affected persons and the general public.

This position will also include home-visiting services with our child-maternal health services programs.

Full-time, 35hrs a week; $37/hr hire rate; $40/hr work rate.
