Overview
The Division of Transplant Surgery of the University of California Davis Health in Sacramento is seeking a Board- Certified/board-eligible abdominal transplant surgeon with a focus on Kidney Transplantation.
The candidate will join the Division of Transplant Surgery of the Department of Surgery. The Division currently performs 350 kidney transplants, 90 living donor nephrectomies, and over 200 dialysis access cases annually. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in all aspects of kidney transplantation and dialysis access. The individual would be incorporated into a practice that includes laparoscopic donor nephrectomy, adult and pediatric kidney transplantation and dialysis access.
This full-time faculty position will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical, Clinical X, or In-Residence series, dependent upon experience and qualification. Faculty in the Clinical X series is expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence, and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service. Faculty in the In-Residence series are expected to engage in teaching, independent research, and creative work, demonstrate professional competence and activity, and provide University and public service.
Basic Qualifications (required at the time of application):
Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Degree
Candidates must be board-eligible or certified in Surgery
Candidates must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment
Additional Qualifications (required at the time of start):
Candidate must be fully trained in an American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) accredited fellowship program
Candidate must acquire a California Medical License before the appointment start date
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong interest in clinical outcomes and/or basic research in organ preservation, reconditioning, and modulation utilizing ex vivo machine perfusion or transplant immunology
Possess excellent clinical skills with the ability to perform living and deceased donor adult and pediatric kidney transplantation as well as deceased donor multi-organ recovery
The salary range for this position is Assistant $293,245-$453,320, Associate Professor $466,164-$675,934, and Full Professor $542,534-$836,659.
