Program Overview
The University of Cincinnati’s interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) pulls expertise from our renowned faculty representing a range of public health and social science colleges to provide innovative curricula that focus on key aspects of preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through the organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, communities and individuals. The BSPH program launched in fall 2021 and offers both an in person and online degree, as well as a minor. The program currently has 150 students with plans for continued growth. The current area of focus for the program is health promotion and education, with plans to develop additional concentrations. The College of Medicine (COM) at the University of Cincinnati is working on the development of a concentration in global health within the BSPH program.
Essential Functions
Develop and teach global health undergraduate courses in person and online.
Serve as the concentration director for the BSPH undergraduate global health concentration.
Assist with programmatic growth and development, which may include (but is not limited to) developing community partnerships, providing student professional development and advising support, overseeing experiential learning, and aiding in recruitment and retention of students.
Engage in university, professional, and community service.
Work collaboratively with public health programs and faculty across campus.
Scholarship through independent and/or collaborative research and publication is not required for this non-tenure education track position.
Minimum Requirements
Earned master’s degree in public health, global health, population health or related field.
Global health teaching and/or field experience.
Ability to apply and instill advanced knowledge through teaching, service and public health practice.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Earned doctorate degree in public health, global health, population health or related field.
Experience mentoring students, such as through professional development, direct supervision, or capstone/research projects.
Prior teaching experience in public health, global health, population health or related field, including online instruction.

A full time faculty position is available in the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. DEPHS is seeking an innovative and forward-thinking faculty member to join the undergraduate public health team. This 12-month, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor – Educator will focus on the soon to be launched global health concentration. The faculty member will reside within the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences (DEPHS) within the College of Medicine. The BSPH program is committed to increasing the diversity of the university community. Department Overview
The Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences (DEPHS) is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff and its Master of Public Health (MPH) Program is ranked 79th according to US News and World Reports. The DEPHS conducts world-renowned research and offers graduate training in environmental health, epidemiology, occupational safety, molecular genetics and public health. The department has over 31 full-time faculty and over 279 students in six divisions (Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Environmental Genetics and Molecular Toxicology, Environmental and Occupational Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and Public Health Sciences).
