Overview

The Department of Environmental Health Science in the College of Public Health at the
University of Georgia seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor. This is an academic year (9
month) appointment with a starting date by August 1st, 2026 and the opportunity to
supplement salary through external grant funding of summer salary.

We seek applicants with a strong academic record in teaching, research, and service in
environmental health with a focus on computational analyses and One Health. Integrated
research bridging human-, animal-, and/or environmental and ecological systems via
computational and/or integrative –omics technologies is especially encouraged. Minimum
qualifications include a doctoral degree in environmental health or a related discipline (e.g.,
biology, environmental science, toxicology, etc.) and relevant research experience. Preferred
qualifications include: excellence in teaching and working with students, evidence of ability to
submit strong (fundable) extramural grant proposals, ability to produce and communicate
research, and at least two years of postdoctoral training. A commitment to inclusive excellence
is expected. The successful candidates will be required to teach undergraduate and graduate
courses. Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the
rank of Associate Professor.
