Salary: The budgeted salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints. Research Scientist Cancer Center (Job ID #1032814)
The University of Illinois Cancer Center is a science-first research institution that gives patients with cancer equal access to world-class treatment. This position will provide key scientific leadership and systems support regarding cancer-focused grants on research translation, health services, and community engagement. This position will require the identification of funding mechanisms, development of competitive proposals in community engagement, research translation, and healthcare practice, and oversight of implementation for funded projects. This will entail working with teams of Cancer Center staff, students, Ph.D. level researchers, and other stakeholders to conceptualize and draft projects, including implementation and dissemination initiatives aligned with research. This position will also recruit, supervise, and/or train other research staff or students.

Qualifications:
- PhD or terminal doctorate in science or health related field required.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in health related research experience required.
- Grant writing experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in funding mechanisms of HRSA, foundation, state, county, city, and other public sector / healthcare service sectors required. NIH grant experience preferred.
