Overview
Chair and Professor, Department of Health Management and Policy, College of Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The position is a full-time, 12-month position with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The Chair position will be responsible for leading and facilitating all aspects of the Department. The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate in Health Management, Health Policy, Health Administration, or a closely related area and be eligible for appointment as Professor with tenure. Consequently, a successful candidate is expected to have a record of successful undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience, successful scholarship and grantsmanship, as well as communication, interpersonal, and change management skills. Candidates should have experience using data to effectively develop, implement, and improve programs and initiatives which are necessary to lead a visible and dynamic department, ability to advance the College and University Strategic Plans, contribute to the Department’s mission and initiatives, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and community partnerships, engage institutional and community stakeholders, and have excellent communication, relationship-building, and creative problem-solving skills. Prior administrative or academic leadership experience is preferred.
