COPH Dean and Professor and Senior Associate Vice President, USF Health

The University of South Florida (USF), a metropolitan, research-intensive institution recently invited to join the prestigious Association of American Universities, is seeking a transformational leader to serve as Dean and Professor in the College of Public Health and Senior Associate Vice President, USF Health.

USF’s College of Public Health (COPH) is consistently ranked #1 in the state of Florida and in the top 25 nationally for nearly 20 years. The COPH is known for being innovative and for its brand “Our Practice is our Passion.” Fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the College is also home to three other accredited programs, the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) accredited Master of Health Administration, the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) accredited Master of Science in Public Health in Genetic Counselling, and the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Dietetic Internship linked to an MPH in Nutrition. The College’s 95 faculty are highly productive in research, publications and presentations, and the active application of evidence to practice, in teaching and mentoring at all degree levels, and in leadership in professional and community organizations. Faculty are actively engaged the pre and post-professional development of more than 5,000 students throughout undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-doctoral programs. The Lifelong Learning Academy supports continuing professional education for the public health workforce through short courses and micro-certificates. The College’s centers address global infectious disease, maternal and child health, environmental risk assessment, lifestyle medicine, and leadership development.

Part of USF Health, which includes the core colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, and Pharmacy, and the schools of Biomedical Sciences and Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences, the College of Public Health was founded in 1984 as the first college of public health in Florida. COPH is organized into four Strategic Areas: Global and Planetary Health; Interdisciplinary Science and Practice; Policy, Practice and Leadership; and Population Health Science. Our faculty select their strategic area of interest and are encouraged to engage in transdisciplinary research and teaching with faculty from across the college.
