Instructor 1, Nutrition Undergraduate Position

The College of Public Health at the University of South Florida is seeking an Instructor to teach nutrition courses in the Undergraduate Studies Program. This non-tenure track position will be a 12-month appointment.

Part of USF Health, the USF College of Public Health was founded in 1984 as the first college of public health in Florida and consists of a multidisciplinary faculty of 84 scholars, professionals and leaders serving the educational needs of more than 4,500 students in bachelors, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nutrition, Food Sciences or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Evidence of innovative approaches in teaching, in a college/university or non-traditional setting, such as workshops, field schools, etc.
  • Experience in counseling and mentoring students or other public health professionals.
  • A record of collegiality and participation as a citizen of a college/university and/or employer.
  • A record of contributions in service to a college/university/employer and to the field, profession, and community as appropriate to the mission and goals of the college/university/employer.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition
  • Experience teaching online and in class
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • One or more years of health-related undergraduate teaching experience at the community college or university   level.
  • Experience using Canvas or other teaching software.
