This home-based (remote) position is open to Washington residents and those residing on the ID/WA and OR/WA borders.
This part-time (.50) Rural Health Transformation Project position is currently funded through October 30, 2030.
The Opportunity
This position supports the mission of the Department of Healthby leading work and providing clinical paramedic level subject matter expertise to certified EMS providers and support for rural trauma system development and improving EMS response to persons experiencing substance use disorders in rural communities as a part of the Rural Health Transformational Plan grant work. The position serves as a designated senior Health Services Specialist and reports to the Executive Director of the Emergency Care Systems Section of the Office of Community Health Systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Work to expand access to neurological specialty care in rural emergency care systems.
Support Rural Trauma Training and Team Development.
Provide clinical subject matter expertise, technical assistance, and coordination to EMS agencies, medical program directors, and community partners.
Develop, design, adopt, and deliver specialized opioid response training covering naloxone use, airway management, compassion fatigue, and harm-reduction practices for certified EMS providers in response to the opioid crisis.
