Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC).
Pay rate for this role is $72,500 – $130,000 annually (commensurate with experience and licensure)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday

Summary of the position:
Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) to join our integrated care team. The BHC is a core member of the primary care team, providing brief, evidence-based behavioral health interventions to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced, collaborative medical setting.
This role supports the integration of behavioral health into primary care by addressing mental health, substance use, and psychosocial concerns that impact overall health and functioning across the lifespan.
Qualifications and abilities
● Education
○ PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or a Master’s in Clinical Social Work or a Master’s in Counseling
● Qualifications
○ Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Hawai‘i.
○ Clinical experience in integrated primary care settings with child, adolescent, and adult populations.
○ Preference given to candidates with experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
○ Proficiency in conducting clinical assessments and delivering brief interventions such as motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and solution-focused therapy.
○ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based model.
○ Required immunizations: TB skin test or chest x-ray. Hepatitis B vaccination is optional.
○ Current Hawaii licensure in good standing with no insurance credentialing restrictions. Have a specialty in health psychology and/or training in integrated healthcare service delivery to adult and pediatric populations.
General Duties include but are not limited to
● Conduct screenings and provide brief, time-limited behavioral health interventions for patients referred by primary care providers.
● Address a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, stress, chronic disease management, and substance use.
● Collaborate closely with medical staff and care coordinators to support whole-person care focused on symptom reduction and functional improvement.
● Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with legal and clinical standards.
● Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and quality improvement initiatives.
● Other duties as assigned
