Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant / Family Nurse Practitioner) provides health care to patients of the Women’s Health Clinic at the Sunnybrook location.
Essential functions include:
- Conducting physical examinations
- Ordering diagnostic procedures
- Evaluating and communicating test results
- Treating patients – prescribing medications, writing referrals, and counseling patients under the supervision of a physician
- Provides any of the following services; preventative care, education, family planning care, prenatal care, child health care, STD care and acute illness management
- Provides support services to the mental health team as needed for continuity of client care and perform procedures as indicated after appropriate training
*Additional Work Schedule details: Mon – Fri 8:15am-5:15pm with an expectation to work one evening clinic per week until 7:15pm to make 40 hours
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- As required by license
- No specific experience required
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license approved by the NC Joint Subcommittee of the Board of Nursing and Board of Medical Examiners
- CPR
- AED
- DEA Registration
- Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted
