Washington County Public Health Division within Health and Human Services (HHS) Department is seeking a dedicated Public Health Workforce Coordinator to join our dynamic Strategy Branch. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our public health workforce. This exciting opportunity involves facilitating division-wide staff trainings, developing, and implementing Public Health Division workforce development plans, and overseeing complex funding processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring our staff is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to address emerging public health issues and deliver exceptional public health services.

This position is full-time limited duration with a tentative end date of June 30, 2027. 

About the opportunity:
Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive division-wide staff training plan aligned with division goals and objectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of a Public Health Division workforce development plan to address current and future workforce needs.
  • Collaborate with other branches, programs, and teams within Public Health Division to identify training and development needs.
  • Track and review the effectiveness of division-wide training programs.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a Public Health staff competency matrix.
  • Lead coordination of Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC) for the Public Health Division, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate across Division to develop and maintain a MAC reinvestment plan.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and partners on MAC procedures and maintain and communicate the division-wide MAC plan.
  • Act as a contract administrator for relevant contracts, serving as a key point of contact for contractors and other partners, ensuring compliance and monitoring contract deliverables and requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in Public Health workforce development and training.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
