Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Consultant to join our team.  As a key member of our communications team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the effective communication of our organization’s mission, values, and initiatives.

 

As a Communications Consultant (CC3) you will report to the Communications Manager and work in a professional, collaborative manner with other staff, leadership, and Board/Council members.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Public Meeting Production Coordination:Transporting, setting up, and taking down of audio-visual equipment for Board and Council meetings.
Proof-reading and editing meeting materials to meet deadlines.
Posting all public meeting materials on the Board and Council websites.
Assisting with virtual, hybrid, and in-person meeting facilitation, including anticipating and helping resolve possible technical difficulties for meeting participants.
External and Digital Communications:Writing, editing, and reviewing content for Board and Council websites and social media channels, using proper grammar, punctuation, and Plain Talk standards.
Analyzing website and social media metrics by conducting regular reviews of Board and Council digital communication platforms.
Ensuring all Board and Council communications are equitable, inclusive, and meet ADA and accessibility requirements.
Media Public Relations:Identifying, collecting, and distributing media clips regarding or related to Board and Council work.
Working with DOH colleagues to maintain relevant media and reporter distribution lists.
Record Retention and Responses:Participating in public records request responses, including drafting response letters, and gathering and preparing responsive documents.
Providing support to the records custodian, including archiving records consistent with records retention schedule.
