Overview

In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) Replacement Project, providing essential technical assistance to health jurisdictions, health care providers, funeral homes and more. Your work ensures the smooth operation of Washington Health and Life Events (WHALES), contributing to the accurate registration of births, deaths, and fetal deaths, which plays a critical role in public health data management and the issuance of vital records.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

Provide comprehensive program support and technical assistance to local health departments, funeral homes, medical providers, and other stakeholders using WHALES.
Maintain a high level of proficiency in system operations, user profiles, permissions, and vital records registration processes.
Resolve or escalate technical issues, offering timely and accurate responses to user inquiries within 24 hours.
Assist with the EDRS to WHALES transition by offering backup support to Birth and Death Specialists, participating in project meetings, and troubleshooting user concerns.
Complete additional assignments aligned with the Center for Health Statistics’ strategic goals.
