What You Will Do:

Join the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and help safeguard public health through our values of Equity, Innovation, and Engagement. Our Office of Environmental Health and Safety works to protect Washingtonians by minimizing exposure to environmental hazards.

We are seeking a leader for our Wastewater Management Section to:

·         Collaborate on the development and implementation of state laws and guidance documents.

·         Provide technical support for small on-site sewage systems (OSS) and greywater reuse systems.

·         Contribute to projects and occasionally support the permitting process for large on-site sewage systems (LOSS).

Your work will be crucial in maintaining clean surface water and groundwater for drinking, recreation, and shellfish harvesting.

Location and Flexibility: Enjoy the flexibility of our hybrid work environment, where you balance working from home and in-person collaboration with customers. This position requires travel throughout Washington State, which may include overnight stays for multiple nights to meet with partners, customers, and community members. When not traveling, you may choose to work from home or the nearest DOH facility.
