Radiation Health Physics 2 (RHP2)

We’re hiring for a key role in our Division of Environmental Public Health, supporting the Office of Radiation Protection. You’ll lead efforts to implement the Healthy Environments for All (HEAL) Act—partnering with Tribes, engaging impacted communities, managing environmental justice assessments, and ensuring compliance with funding and policy requirements.

This role reports to the Radioactive Materials Section Manager and contributes to our mission by:

Conducting reviews of radioactive materials license applications.
Consulting with applicants or licensees to assure adequacy of applications and preparing licenses in final form.
Performing facility and field inspections of users of radioactive materials.
Conducting investigations or assisting higher level staff in investigating incidents or accidents involving radioactive materials.
Assessing regulations, standards, practices, and procedures for use in controlling exposure to beneficial uses of radiation.

Location and Flexibility

Enjoy the flexibility of our hybrid work environment, where you can balance working from home and conducting inspections in the field.   It is anticipated that you’ll be expected to perform work activities in the field across Western and Eastern Washington region 15% of the time.
