Overview
Winnebago County is seeking a Regional Multimedia & Public Relations Coordinator – Project Position to join our Public Health Department. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a minimum expected duration of 18 months, from May 2026 through November 30, 2027.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for creating and executing a communications strategy that advances understanding, visibility, and engagement of local public health departments in the Northeast Wisconsin region. Strategies include, but are not limited to, social media, newsletter development, templates, and media relationships. Develops graphic design, web content and media relations strategies.
This position serves the local governmental and tribal public health jurisdictions within the following 17 counties in the Northeast Wisconsin region: Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago Counties.
Essential Duties
- Assesses existing Northeast Wisconsin Region health department communication and media relations practices. Develops recommendations that can be tailored to each health department’s capacity and audience.
- Develops, houses, and disseminates customizable communication tools for use by health departments in the Northeast Wisconsin Region.
- Develops recommended training or sustainability plans for Northeast Wisconsin Region Health Departments regarding communications and media relations strategies.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or closely related field plus three years related professional work experience, or equivalent combination of closely related education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skill, and abilities.
- Experience in public health, social services, non-profit or equivalent experience, skills, and abilities is preferred.
