Overview

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by optimizing data and technology by improving collection and reporting of data through the surveillance system administered by the Public Health Reporting InforMation Exchange (PRIME) Branch.

The Analyst II provides Tier-1 Helpdesk support for the CalREDIE system by responding to user inquiries, processing user account requests, and performing routine data clean-up activities to ensure accurate and timely surveillance data. Collaborates with stakeholders, serves as a subject matter expert on system functionality and data processes, and triages reported issues by identifying root causes and resolving or escalating complex matters. The Analyst II also assists with testing system enhancements and upgrades, documents defects and workflow decisions, supports grant-related data needs, and ensures strict confidentiality and data-security compliance.

The incumbent works under the direction of the Supervisor II, Chief of the Help Desk Unit (HDU).

This is a 12 month Limited-Term Full-Time position that may be extended or become Permanent.

 

In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
