The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) has two (2) openings for Staff Attorney 2 to join their engaging, impactful, and growing team! See descriptions of each position below:
Position 1: Staff Attorney 2 – Administrative Prosecutor
This position involves developing, negotiating and presenting cases involving alleged violations of law by licensed healthcare and environmental professionals and entities. This rewarding opportunity allows you to have a significant impact on the quality of health care and the environment in the state. Specific examples of the responsibilities include reviewing complaints and triaging case files, interviewing witnesses, drafting motions and statements of charges, holding compliance conferences, preparing exhibits, negotiating consent orders and presenting at formal administrative hearings before licensing boards and hearing officers.
Position 2: Staff Attorney 2 – Regulatory Advisor
This attorney will advise program leadership on health law and policy issues to promote compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations. The programmatic areas this position will advise include the Infectious Disease and Community and Family Health Branches. These exciting, evolving areas of law require thoughtful analysis and critical application. This position also will advise the Department on compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and will represent the Department in hearings before the Freedom of Information Commission.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
– Location: 410 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT
– Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
– Work Shift: Full-time, First Shift
– Work Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00am – 4:30pmMay have the opportunity for a partial telework schedule
