Job Description and Duties
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by overseeing the review, evaluation, inspection, and certification of health facilities and agencies as to their compliance with State and Federal laws, regulations, and investigations of complaints. Carries out program activities in a specific region of the state for those facilities and agencies under the jurisdiction of the Center. The Health Facilities Evaluator Manager I (HFEM I) ensures that all Department and Program mandates, policies and procedures are carried out in an appropriate and consistent manner. Up to 10% travel may be required.
The incumbent works under the general direction of the Health Facilities Evaluator Manager II (HFEM II).
A hybrid telework schedule may be available for this position, in accordance with CDPH’s Telework Policy and Procedures.
The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200 and may be required to report to a CDPH office, when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
