Job Description and Duties
There is one vacancy being advertised across multiple counties. The incumbent will be headquartered in the county nearest the residence of the selected candidate. The counties are: * Sacramento or Contra Costa County *

 

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by managing the Reproductive Freedom and Abortion Access Unit (RFAA Unit). The RFAA Unit focuses on reducing health disparities related to reproductive health and abortion access. The Health Program Manager I (HPM I) oversees the RFAA unit, including program design and reporting. Provides technical assistance, outreach and education to various health disciplines and community agencies to coordinate programs and services appropriately.

The incumbent works under the direction of the Health Program Manager II – Chief of the Gender Health Equity Section in the Office of Health Equity.

The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200, and may be required to report to a CDPH office, when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
