Job Description and Duties
THIS IS A STATEWIDE RECRUITMENT. THE INCUMBENT WILL BE HEADQUARTERED IN THE COUNTY NEAREST THE RESIDENCE OF THE SELECTED CANDIDATE. THE COUNTIES ARE: *Contra Costa County, and *Sacramento County.

The Health Program Manager (HPM) II works under the direction of the Health Program Manager III (HPM III), Assistant Deputy Director of the Regional Public Health Office.

The Health Program Manager II (HPM II) will provide guidance to a group of technical and administrative staff in the Regional Program Coordination Section consisting of Local Program Policy Coordinators (HPS IIs). The HPM II supports complex regional planning, highly sensitive projects and relationship management with local health jurisdiction (LHJ) leaders. The HPM II serves as backup to the HPM II over the Local Support Section who oversees the Operations Section and local funding  functions in support of the Regional Public Health Office (RPHO).  This position requires up to 20% travel.

This vacancy is located in Contra Costa County or Sacramento County.  The location of the position will be determined based on the location of the most qualified candidate.

The attached duty statement indicates whether this position is eligible for telework. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200, and may be required to report to a CDPH office, when needed. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment.
