Overview
The Department of Population Health and Disease Prevention, Joe C. Wen School of Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a junior specialist to help experimental procedures for grad students and post-docs.
We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated individual who has excellent project management and molecular epidemiology skills. Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, or other senior lab personnel, the incumbent may perform tasks including but not limited to:
-Simple data analysis steps, including phylogenetic analysis
-Prepare literature review and synthesis for other projects carried out in the lab.
-Lab maintenance including ordering, supply inventory, equipment maintenance, cleaning, organizing, and managing lab spaces and materials; and performing other duties as assigned
-Assisting with experiments, working as part of a team or performing independent task
-Manuscript and publication preparation
-Attending laboratory meetings

Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree emphasis in biological sciences, public health, or other related fields. Candidates should have previous experience in molecular epidemiology (1-year minimum). Applicants should possess solid organizational and time management skills and have ability to work in a team environment with ever-changing priorities.
