Job Description and Duties
The position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by addressing environmental health issues to advance the health and well-being of California’s diverse people and communities.

Under administrative direction of the Environmental Program Manager II, Chief Environmental Health Investigations Branch (EHIB), the Public Health Medical Officer (PHMO III) provides medical and scientific consultation regarding environmental health investigations, environmental exposure, site assessment, and environmental epidemiology.  The PHMO III serves as an EHIB technical and scientific expert in the areas of environmental medicine, health investigation, surveillance, research methods, and data interpretation. Occasional overnight travel statewide will be required.
