Overview

The Materials Supervisor (RHP4) leads the Radioactive Materials Licensing and Compliance (Materials) Section within the Office of Radiation Protection (ORP). You will have the opportunity to manage a team of skilled professionals and administrative staff, driving the section’s success. The Materials Section is essential in protecting Washington State’s residents, property, and environment by licensing, registering, investigating, and conducting compliance inspections for all radioactive materials licensees.

 

Key duties include:

Supervise and manage the Materials Section staff within ORP. By directing the activities to ensure that all facilities possessing radioactive materials in the state are licensed and inspected to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure, and enforcement actions are taken if necessary.
Oversees investigations and responses to incidents and allegations.
Participates in and supports the activities of the Radiation Leadership Team (RLT).
Prepares for and responds to radiological and other emergencies
