Overview

As the Governor’s Interagency Council on Health Disparities’ Social Epidemiologist (Epi 2 Non-Medical), you will play a pivotal role in designing and conducting research, epidemiological analyses, and evaluations to inform our decision-making process. Your work will be instrumental in helping us understand how social and policy determinants intersect to impact the health of communities who are marginalized, guiding the development of innovative policy strategies.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise the Council’s Health Policy Analyst.
  • Design and conduct innovative research and epidemiological analyses on topics of statewide significance, including complex and controversial issues.
  • Analyze associations between social/policy factors and health outcomes, incorporating approaches that examine intersecting inequities.
  • Collaborate with diverse partners, including community-based organizations, government agencies, Tribal organizations, and academic institutions.
  • Facilitate interagency collaboration and policy innovation to eliminate inequities and advance health justice.
  • Prepare and disseminate clear, accurate, and accessible reports, presentations, and visual products to communicate research findings to various audiences.
