Job Description and Duties
This vacancy is being advertised Statewide.  The headquarter location will be determined based on the location of the most qualified candidate. Staff will travel to assigned regions for site visits, meetings, and workgroups. Travel is expected throughout the region assigned. Region I, Region II, Region IV, Region V, Region VI. Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humbolt , Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo ,Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Placer , Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, Yolo, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Tulare, Imperial, Inyo,Mono, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego.

 

The Senior Emergency Services Coordinator, California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Sr. ESC) works under the general direction of the Response Section Chief in the Program and Response Branch of the Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR). The incumbent will work in conjunction with the existing Regional Disaster Medical Health Specialists subcontracted through the Emergency Medical Services Authority to support regional preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities. The Sr. ESC performs the most complex, difficult, and sensitive emergency management, emergency response, recovery, and planning work. The incumbent is independently responsible for significant, specialized emergency management projects; serves as a team lead and/or project coordinator on emergency management projects; formulates program and policy direction and alternatives; and develops methodologies for implementation.

Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment.
